Gordon Weate

We regret to announce the death of our long time member, Gordon Weate, on Monday December 3rd 2012, in Australia.

He achieved the age of 90 years and was much loved member of the MSG.

He was a Golden member of the Group and joined in 1961, just two years after the Group was founded. Gordon was born in Melbourne Victoria & was a Member of the Brighton Philatelic Society (they had an active group of Malayan Philatelists with William Wells) & he was also a ‘Golden Member’ with them.

In 1969 he moved to Sydney & was working with DOW as a Chemist specialising in plastics. He was a member of The Philatelic Society of NSW . and also a member of the Northern Suburbs PS in Sydney

He was an active member of the MSG in Sydney until his passing, and will be greatly missed by his many friends in the MSG group in Australia.
