Malaysia came into existence in 1963 incorporating the Federation of Malaya (formed in 1948), North Borneo (Sabah), Sarawak and, until 1965, Singapore. It explores the stamps and postal stationery issued from 1948 to 2022, including, where known, all varieties.

This period was one of incredible complexity, with watermark, paper and perforation varieties to keep even the most avid collector fully occupied for a very long time. The known revenue stamps of the Federation and of Malaysia are also described in full. Finally, for those seeking new fields for research, this volume lists known information on a number of “back-of-the book” subjects. 

The four indices aid access to the information contained herein and include extensive thematic listings. This book was originally published in three volumes in 2009-2010 and has now been expanded to incorporate new research and new stamp issues. The original Volume 1 received a Large Vermeil award at the Indipex 2011 World Philatelic Exhibition.

Supplementary information for subsequent years will initially be provided through the columns of “The Malayan Philatelist”, the journal of The Malaya Study Group.
